Week 9: First Challenge
Starting a new format
So I mentioned a few times I want to start a new format of the blog, as the old one is starting to feel a bit repetitive. So, my initial idea is to have some sort of a challenge every week. Which is what I’d like to try out now.
As I feel like I’m falling back into a rut again, I’d like to try a challenge that will push me forward. I do show up for the things I want to do every day, but I feel like I’m leaving out a lot of potential. Not pushing myself at all. I took it easy for a couple of weeks, now it’s time to get back to it again.
The challenge
It’s quite simple, I want to try out using my potential for the entire week. I think doing it for a week is alright, as I won’t burn out and I think I can learn a lot from it. I won’t be able to sustain that pace for months or years, but that’s not the point, the point is to learn from it and make adjustments/try out new things every week.
I tried doing this before a bunch of times, but always failed. Thankfully, I’ve got my amazing accountability buddy for support this time.
Ever since I got that client on the side, my life has been revolving around work. Specifically working for others, which I have confirmed isn’t something I want to do long term, and it’s time to start wrapping up that project and moving towards my own thing. So, the goal for next week is to wrap up the client project as much as I can, so that I can start working on my own thing.
Rules
- No mindless scrolling, YouTube or gaming
- Sometimes I find myself on LinkedIn or YouTube just wasting time, I want to completely abstain from this for the entire week. Gaming isn’t too bad, but I don’t want to spend my evenings doing it (at least not during this week).
- Start working by 7 am and full focus until 9 am
- No distractions during the day, just focusing on getting the shit done
- Write a daily log that I will compile into a blog post next Sunday
- Meditate after breakfast (no exceptions)
- My usual goal is to do this, but sometimes I forget to meditate after breakfast so I do it later. I want to be stricter about it this time.
- Some type of exercise every day
- I already go to the gym twice per week, will go back to three when the project is fully finished. But for the next week, on non-gym days I’ll do some simple exercises. Pushups and squats.
