The Magic Is In the Work

Week 10: Devlog + New project

ยท Yours truly

Last week’s challenge

The challenge generally went okay, I didn’t write the daily log though. The reason why is because I work on my laptop and personal PC, and I wanted to use Obsidian for the daily log. However, since I don’t have any type of syncing, I didn’t end up writing it.

The 7 am to 9 am work session was really good, I will continue doing that. Sometimes I feel hungry, so I end up having breakfast before 9am, which is fine because then I don’t have to eat breakfast later.

No distractions during the day was tough at times, I did give in to a few distractions here and there though. I can work on this further by extending my focus time just a little bit.

I managed to do meditate every morning every breakfast.

And, I did a mini exercise (pushups) every day on non gym days. Speaking of the gym, I decided to go only once this week, as I feel like my body needs a bit of a rest from exercise.

New development

To keep a long story short, I’m 99% sure I won’t continue the client project I’ve been working on for the last month (due to some complications with the client, oops). However, I couldn’t be happier, because as I mentioned before in the blog, I am not feeling very happy working this much just to build someone else’s dreams. I’ve got my own.

Which is why I’d like to announce that I have started working on a project I wanted to work on for years. It’s essentially a SaaS for log management/aggregation, metrics and alerts. Yes, I know platforms like that exist already, but I’m taking it as a good sign as that means there’s a market for this. Either way, I’d much rather have it flop and not make me a single cent, than not try at all. But one other thing I’d like to announce is that I’ll start a devlog on my LinkedIn account (as that’s the only social media platform I have). I rarely ever see anything interesting there, or funny, so I might as well make it interesting/useful. Eventually I’d like to start a little community with like-minded people, if anyone decides to read my devlogs. The point is also to inspire others.

I’m just not sure what to do with this blog, as keeping this up and the devlog would a lot of writing, and that’s currently not my focus. We will see. Lots of shifting is happening lately.
